We ended up here on the morning of New Years Day. We arrived around 11 am and the place was fairly busy, we were seated in the area near the coffee barista. Our server Gilbert was friendly but a bit of odd fellow as he took our orders for beverages. I ordered the " Bucket List " Banana's Foster French Toast, my friend ordered the Florentine Scramble Crepe. So we got our order in about 1120 and we waited and we waited..... After 35+ minutes , my Italian temper was getting a bit visible apparently so the manager came over with 2 homemade muffins and apologized for the extended delay, he explained that alot of the staff on account of NYE never showed up so they were short staffed. After consuming the delicious muffins , I felt a bit better and about 10 minutes later our food arrived! My bucket list must have french toast looked very interesting and my friends crepe's looked equally inviting. My choice was a generous amount of french toast adorned with an ample amount of sliced banana's and drenched with a bit too much rum glaze that was overly sweet. The bread was overly dry and no matter now much rum infused sugar I dunked them in they just soaked it up like a ShamWow. It was OK overall but nothing that should be on anyone's bucket list unless you want going for diabetic shock. My friends crepe was just ok nothing special kinda boring to be honest. I understand they were short handed , those things do happen and I give props to the manager by giving us a peace offering but he should've done it 15 minutes prior. Its a cute place and they do offer outside dining or if you wanna enjoy your Java while watching the foot traffic. I might give them another chance on a non holiday to be fair.

I am only rating this restaurant a 5 because of the FOOD AND STAFF!! Let me start by saying our food was AMAZING and the staff were super friendly and very attentive (thanks Andrea!!)!!! We had eggs Benedict which were cooked perfectly! We also had the bananas foster which was out of this world!!!! The chef there is clearly very talented....I think his name was Larry...and even asked us if we enjoyed everything...great customer service! And now that I have complimented everything that was great...I feel very compelled to mention here (in hopes that management reads this) that I felt so bad for the staff. The chef and staff were so good to us and the owner/manager lady comes into the dining room and literally started reprimanding them all....LOUDLY...RIGHT NEAR OUR TABLE! She told the waitresses to stop congregating and pay attention to the customers. But both waitresses had just been to their tables to check! Then, she came back to reprimand the chef about the food he had made for her and said 'you'd better not be feeding that to the customers'....HOW DEPLORABLE!! After that, I requested to speak to the manager/owner....and she never came to the table!! My family has owned restaurants for 40 years...and rule #1 is customer service (even more important than food most of the time...because if customers aren't happy, they'll never come back just for the food....they're spending money to eat out and want a great experience too). So ma'am, I rate you ZERO stars and I hope you read this and start treating your employees better! They are your money-makers....and if they're not happy because you treat them so poorly, how will your customers be?

I will never go to this place again and will not recommend anyone to go here. They took almost one and half hour to bring the food and after that also the order was not correct. They served food in chipped plates and cracked glass.

So good! Try the Brie and berries crepe or the bagel and lox. Delicious. Very attentive server (almost too attentive...) and a fun atmosphere. Not cheap but doesn't break the bank either- definitely worth the money!

I love this place but my ONE complaint is selfish: I used to enjoy sitting on their couch and writing, but it's gotten so damn popular it's hard to concentrate. If you're not trying to get lost in your work and don't need a quiet, peaceful atmosphere, you'll be fine, because the food is awesome and they serve Kahwa coffee. I love the goat cheese and tomato quesadilla. The staff is amazingly friendly and tolerant, and I've witnessed the owner and chef BOTH go out of their way to make customers happy.

The food was great, but the service was definitely lacking. We stopped in for a late breakfast, and it wasn't busy at all - lots of empty tables around. We stood there for a while, obviously waiting to be seated, and very much in the way. After being glanced at by the servers and ignored for several minutes, a server told us that we needed to first check in at Chill, on the other side of the restaurant. So, we went over there and told the host that we wanted to sit outside, and he said we should just grab a table. So, we sat at a small table outside, waited another several minutes, and when the server dropped off our menus, he rudely informed us that we sat at the wrong table (even though it was self-seating??), but he let us stay there anyway... After we ordered our omelets, they took forever to come out. There's no reason a restaurant that was so empty should take that long to make a couple of omelets. The food ended up being delicious and was served in a very heavy-sized portion, but the service was rude and slow, which kind of ruined the experience.

Was there this morning, completely unfamiliar with the complete makeover since the previous tenant. It's bar on one side and restaurant on the other. Came in on the bar side expecting a coffee shop, and as it turns out it's both. Ordered a decaf, and the gracious bartender served a big cup quickly plus brought a little tin cup full of cream and a little stack of sugar packets in a tiny tray. Another waiter arrives and asks if I had ordered. Before serving, he asked where I wanted to sit, so I said I would sit on one of the tables outside. He offered to carry my cup outside, so gets a medal for service. When I got the cup, I decided to sit on one of their luxurious plush seats indoors and watch one of their two TVs. The plush seat is surrounded by plush chairs and has a small table along the wall. Small ceiling fans whirring above. Wood paneling all around the bar, which apparently is a popular meeting place for office workers and laptoppers. You can order your food at the bar and eat on the counter with your drink if you wish. Art inside the restroom, impressive. May try the restaurant side next time, which has it's own entrance. A great place to sink into comfortable surroundings and de-stress while sipping your favorite drink and listen to pleasant music or watch ESPN.

What a great little place! The coffee was perfect, robust, not bitter. The menu was creative and tempting, and extra-extra credit for designating certain dishes as vegan-yes vegan. For breakfast, I had a fantastic vegan potato hash with eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, onions green peppers and chunks of skin on potatoes. Sides were fresh fruit and tomatoes sprinkled with fresh basil, all for $7.00. My hubby had great brie tomato crepes wthi a side of fruit. I've also got to comment on our fantastic waiter, a wonderfully friendly and polite young man from Siberia. I'm so glad I tried Steam-next stop, lunch menu!

Great place. Fantastic staff. Good food and coffee. Recommend! Read further for the details... I was visiting St. Pete Beach (2/24/12) on both business and pleasure when I was struck down by the Norovirus. For those who don't know what that is, it's a really intense "stomach flu" that has you going from both ends and praying for death (ok, maybe not death. But it was the sickest I've felt in YEARS.) STEAM was the first place I ate when I began to feel better. I wandered in by chance; I had just gotten a pedicure at the nail shop next store and for the first time in 48 hours felt hungry. I was cheerfully greeted by three people (one girl, one guy and one woman who may have been the manager or owner?) The woman teased me about wearing a sun dress, as the weather was beautiful that day and she was "stuck" inside. The young girl behind the counter was very kind and was able to get me some oatmeal (even thought it was after 1:00pm). The oatmeal, by the way, was DELICIOUS, with a tiny bit of brown sugar, along with mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blackberries, etc.) on top. I must have looked perplexed reading the coffee/drink menu, as the guy behind the counter ensured me it was just a "guide", but that I could feel free to order anything my heart desired (that wasn't on the menu) and he would make it for me. And indeed he did. Service with a smile. Friendly folks. Good tasting food and drink. I would definitely go back!

We ate here twice Memorial Day Weekend 2013. First at the bakery and then next day at the restaurant. The bakery was fine as far as the coffee and muffins. It was hot in there and the wireless was down but the food was ok. The next day the brunch we had was pretty poor. My spouse ordered an omelette with spinach and cheese. It had to be sent back. They removed it from our ticket Service was slow. We ate here another time about a year ago and it was pretty good. This time it was bad. Not likely to go back any time soon. MAybe we will give it another try after they have had a chance to sort some things out.

This place is great! I've spent the last 2 days studying here - the have free WiFi, good quiet pleasant music playing, great coffee, and a great menu - from interesting omelets and crepes served all day as well as sandwiches, salads, and entrees. My husband had the tuna salad sandwich which he loved (which is great b/c it is made with mayo) and I had an amazing Mediterranean omelet with shrimp, feta, spinach, and black olives. The best part about this place is the warm pleasant casual atmosphere. It really feels like you are walking into a family - in a good way. I definitely plan on spending a lot more time here!

Someone recently recommended Steam as a great place for an excellent cup of coffee. While I was hoping for something better than average in teh way of coffee, I was hoping to add a better than decent breakfast. The real surprise was that breakfast was even better than I could have hoped. There are many styles of Eggs Benedict, but Steam's version (that morning) with crab meat was exceptional for several reasons. First the crab was fresh and it actually tasted like crab! Second, someone actually made a decent hollandaise! The variety of fresh fruit filled the plate and the eggs were poached perfectly. My wife had crepes filled with ham and brie. The ham was exquisite, the crepes were actually crepe (rather than generic pancakes thinned out) and the resultant dish was so abundant that I doubt anyone could easily finish it. The regular coffee was superior as was my cappuccino. I am not easily given to hyperbole, but this was a truly excellent breakfast. If you appreciate the little things, like quality, the personal touch and excellent service, you will love this place. Not long there after I returned for lunch and enjoyed it almost as much as I did my previous breakfast. I had a cup of the crab soup which had been recommended and it was quite excellent, albeit different. There was a bit of fresh crab meat on the top with a little black "lace" of what I was told was a sherry reduction. The soup is a novel interpretation, It had great crab flavor and I liked the sherry reduction (which I suspect was reduced with a bit of balsamic vinegar) and I look forward to trying it again. I had their version of the Philly cheese steak for lunch with a melted Gouda. It was excellent. It was served with some crispy and very colorful king-sized corn chips. My wife had the "kickin' chicken enchiladas" which were also excellent. It too was served with the same crispy and large corn chips. To drink, my wife had iced tea and I tried a glass of their house red sangria, recommended by our water. It was a good drink, without the spice normally associated with the Spanish version and, on reflection, I think it was a good recommendation. (I would like to go back and taste all of them together, just for comparison, including the house white sangria.) It was only slightly sweet, made from wine you would actually might want to drink by itself and had some excellent fruit in the glass which appeared to be fresh cut. It was delightful for an afternoon lunch drink, refreshing without being cloying. The tea tasted freshly made. Lastly, a solitary complaint: there was a tomato salsa served with the chicken enchiladas which was too sweet. To his credit, the waiter immediately returned with some of the excellently balanced house hummus (which they make with tahini paste and toasted sesame seeds. It was great with the chips.) The owner came over and apologized for the salsa and asked what we thought it required. It was nice to have someone sincerely listen to a customer. The owner said that this salsa was also the topping used for the bruschetta (ch is pronounced like a k in Italian....and "panino" is the singular of "panini," but I digress.) Both my wife and I thought the sauce too sweet in its present state and even adding acid (lemon juice brought to us at the table) didn't improve it enough to go with the enchiladas or the chips. "What did it require?" she asked us sincerely. To serve with the enchiladas (and with those nice chips too, for that matter!) I suggest that they make a completely different salsa, one with the same carefully hand diced tasty tomatoes, onion, garlic, red wine vinegar and perhaps some cilantro and maybe a touch of oregano. Still this was the only criticism I had of the lunch and the fact that the family management was so interested in what we thought made us think that lunch was just as excellent as the earlier breakfast. We are definitely big fans...and will be back for dinner some time in the future.

Visited St Pete Beach for the first time and found this place just driving around looking for coffee. I can't believe it only has 3.5 stars because we (wife & I) loved this place (for those who gave a less favorable review, I would love to know which breakfast & coffee joint is better so I can try it). They have great coffee (regular & gourmet - I loved the Cafe Latte with mocha) and great breakfast (we never went outside of breakfast time). We actually enjoyed this place so much that we went back every morning all week! It is a bit on the younger/hipster/artsy side with decorations & vibe, so the elderly crowd may feel somewhat out-of-place, but everything we tried was great and excellent selection on the menu. From fresh baked, hot and quite delicious muffins (highly recommend whatever just came out of the oven - I had blueberry one day, cranberry another, and both were just fantastic with fresh scratch ingredients (definitely not a mix!). We eventually tried almost 10 different breakfast entrees over our 1 week stay at St.Pete, and everything was delicious. From perfectly cooked omelettes (large 3-egg omelet stuffed with toppings, only downside is you pay per topping, which means if your like me it can be a bit pricey, but still delicious) Bagel-Lox (quality salmon), egg white scramble was perfect & light, simply delicious crepes (loved the mixed berries & Brie), homemade granola (didn't even need the milk), shrimp & grits (not quite as good as Commander's Palace in New Orleans, but hey it was pretty darn good), eggs Benedict, and a ridiculously huge yet amazingly delicious "Granny's Gourmet Egg Sandwich". Like I said, we went every day for coffee/breakfast. I really enjoyed everything we ordered with no complaints. My only poor critique for this place is their use of iPads (which they use for placing your orders and paying your bill), not because I have anything against iPads (I'm writing this review on one) but because it was a bit awkward & time-consuming for the staff (maybe they just need a better interface?). So, overall, great coffee & delicious fresh breakfast, and I highly recommend this place. But, like I said before, we liked everything so much we never tried anyplace else, so there may be better breakfast joints on St.Petes but I wouldn't know (we almost walked across the street once to The Frog Pond, literally across the street and was packed, but never did).

After a one night getaway with one too many daiquiris on the beach the night before, a large breakfast was in order. Having never dined for breakfast in St. Pete before, I was clueless. My brother, however, was not. He suggested we go to a little swanky coffee and breakfast joint called Steam located right next to our hotel. Walking into the quaint eatery, I was pleasantly surprised. The building's outside didn't speak for the inside: live jazz music, modern lightning, plush seating and an overall big city dining experience. I truly couldn't believe Steam was a St. Pete beach establishment. The menu was packed full with fun brunch creations like Shrimp and grits, Blue Crab Benedict and one serious plethora of savory and sweet crepes. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Besides the fact my fried egg was overcooked to over-medium, it was excellent. Yes, I would have loved running yolk further flavoring the cheesy, hot-sauced grits, but I got over it pretty fast. The shrimp were huge and flawlessly cooked. The grits were up to par for this Southern belle with a creamy consistency full of flavor from the spicy sauce and melted cheeses. This dish scored a B+ in my cookbook. My beau ordered a Florentine Crepe. Wow. I will be ordering this next time I am there. Stuffed with fluffy scrambled eggs, tomatoes, ham and loads of spinach, this enormous crepe was also topped with a creamy lemon butter sauce. Rich without causing a tummy ache, it was real a winner. My brother ordered the Blue Crab Benedict. Normally, I feel that restaurants kill the classic and simple Benedict. Too often the poached eggs are overdone and the English muffins are toasted for five seconds. This was not the case at Steam. The poached egg spewed bright yellow yolk into the crispy crevasses of the muffin. The blue crab was seemingly fresh but definitely not the best quality crab I've ever had. A little on the pricey side too-at $15 a pop. My brother's girlfriend enjoyed a crepe filled with spinach, artichokes, goat cheese and tomatoes. Another delicious crepe to add to the wishlist. Although a little pricey with most dishes in the low to mid teens, Steam executes fantastic creative breakfasts you can't just get anywhere. With live jazz music, the old coffee house ambiance is pretty amazing too.

Best meal on vacation What looks like a nice local coffee shop up front has a jewel hiden in the dining room! The Tappas bar area is bathed in candlelight with ambience to the max. dark walls, large windows all glowing with candles and well place lighting. The menu says "you are sitting in my kitchen or I am cooking in your living room". whatever way, We liked it. We have never had tappas before, so Sara our waitress explained the process and we ordered 5 items, plus a great big carafe of Sangria (4 kinds available, sample to get your favorite). We had Mediterainean Fresca, (cucumbers and tomatoes, olives, feta cheese), the tureen (cheese, olive tampanade, sun dried tomatoes a very nice sherry reduction and crustini), the fresh ceveche, grilled eggplant (my favorite) and a fig, ginger, orange sauce with wilted spinach entree. ALL were fantastic, each served in turn as they were freshly prepared. There was live music while we ate and everyone in place was friendly and welcoming. Guests and staff both. My compliments to the Chef. Finished the evening with a nice espresso. Very enjoyable dinner and evening. Reccomended. Priced right for service, food and locale.

Just to be clear - this review is only about the coffee at Steam, not the food. This little place is a serious gem on the beach. Very cool, with an exciting food menu. The food I tried was excellent, and the people working there are really great. However, as a self-proclaimed coffee snob from Seattle, they deliver inconsistent, mediocre coffee (based on 3 separate visits). It's not the coffee itself, and it's not the machine they use. They just don't have the machine set properly, and the baristas don't seem to know how to pull the perfect espresso shot. It comes out way too hot, almost tasting burned, and it lacks the thick, velvety texture espresso is supposed to have. I'm sure it's ok if you load it with flavors and milk, but if you're picky about coffee, you'll be disappointed. I really like this place, so I sincerely hope they get their machine calibrated and their baristas properly trained, because if they do, Steam moves to the top of my list.

Great to find a Restaurant with delicious food even for those with food allergies. The fish of the day Florida Style was delicious and well worth the price. It was great to be able to have zucchini "noodles" instead of regular pasta.

Owner Ruthie couldn't be friendlier, she really makes you feel at home and always makes sure everything is to your satisfaction. Chef's Steve, Paul & Jorge kick out unbelievable flavors, creativity and great presentations. Even when their bombarded with orders they always go the extra mile for that special requests with a smile. Chef Kyle's desserts are so yummy even when you're stuffed their hard to resist. Great coffee, great service, great food. Really- the coffee is super good. I'm a Seattle coffee snob so that means something. Our server was awesome. He had a Russian accent and was incredibly nice. He provided recommendations, joked around with us, all around great server. The food is standard breakfast food. I've never had an omelet that I didn't like and everyone else was satisfied with their meal as well.

Food was excellent- I had the granny sandwich and my husband had an omelette with goat cheese, mushroom, and tomatoes. I had an iced dirty chai which was wonderful, my husband had a cup of black coffee that was just okay. The service was subpar- refills were few and far between and the waiter was a bit awkward. The atmosphere was nice but we found two hairs in the food.

Steam rules breakfast...this morning they served one that rated in the top 5 ever for me. The shrimp with andoille sausage, spices and cheese grits topped with an egg is aweome. We sat at one of the grill tables and watched the awesome cooks do their magic while enjoying superior coffee. The classical guitarist was really good, too. We will be back again the next rime we are in the area.

I've been to St. Pete twice in the last three years. I cannot tell you how much I love this place! When I first came 3 years ago, Chill was primarily a tapas restaurant. The tapas were delicious, the wine was well recommended, and the prices were reasonable for a quality meal of this sort. When I came back for a second visit, I was pleased to see entrees were added to the menu. I had the Kobe Sliders. They were phenomenal. Perfectly cooked beef with sauteed mushroom and a Gorgonzola mousse all on small pretzel buns. The 3 sliders were served with rutabaga fries where were exquisite! I had the Key Lime Margarita, which was one of the best I've ever had. I finished the evening off with the red velvet brownie concoction for dessert. Another high recommendation. If you come to this restaurant, make a point to sit at the bar by the chefs. It makes all the difference in the world. They go out of their way to talk to you, share a little bit about the Chill way of life, and maybe even give you a free sample or two. These guys rock. 5 stars.

Today we enjoyed the Sunday brunch menu, which had so many great options. Went with the steak & eggs, cooked exactly medium as ordered, served on a bed of crazy fresh spinach and with some crunchy, oregano speckled homefries, also. The vibe is more upscale than many other breakfast spots in the area, and the prices are slightly higher as a result. But the service and quality more than makes up for it. Our server John was happy to make substitutions for the vegetarian in the group, and to make recommendations for the rest of us. Definitely a spot for the grown ups - no loud, sandy kids running around which earns one extra star from us.

A delicious breakfast of expertly prepared scrambled eggs and roasted potatoes and a blueberry mini-muffin for $5. Excellent service and ambiance. The only downside was the owner having a meltdown two tables away. Somebody showed up late and somebody else neglected to sweep the floor. Why does she think customers should hear this while eating?

Having just moved to st Pete beach I was delighted to experience this place. I was greeted with smiles and compassion as I entered this breakfast joint. Alice was super nice and helpful. Went for coffee and dessert on the last night of our vacation. Only regret.. Not going sooner during our stay in St. Pete! Ordered a cappuccino, the red velvet cake and the bananas fosters crepe, share of course and it was delicious!! Service was fantastic, very polite and helpful. Live music and great atmosphere. Word is their Sunday Brunch is very good! Will definitely be coming back on our next visit to the area.

Chill was great in the beginning when it first opened. Now, I sit in a booth that looks great and trendy but is uncomfortable and uneven. Food use to be delicious every time, not anymore. Still pretty good most of the time and sometimes still delicious but prices are too high for it not to be great every time. Listening to clanging plates as they are cooking in the middle of the restaurant is getting old. You can't see the cook/chef's hands or the food to see what they are cooking - if the kitchen is going to be in the middle of restaurant we need to see their 'art' of cooking - or put a wall up to keep down the noise and smell. Hostess/waitress stations line middle of restaurant next to tables, makes no sense. Today at 9:30 in morning there was a lounge act as if it was Saturday night. Too loud - watched people ask to be moved to the coffee side, due to noise. The singer was actually trying to converse with audience like it was a night-show act. In my opinion music at brunch is lovely but best when understated and just in the background. I am a local and live in the area - I wanted to see Chill make it. After my food today was over-cooked (again) I have decided I am done. Chill is just too pricey for so many inconsistencies. I hope they get it together as I would love to see a local business make it...but I am done making excuses for what I have been experiencing my last several times in.

I live in St. Pete Beach, and I have dined here 4 times now. While the food is ok, the service is terrible. Once, after waiting outside for 30m while a 'team meeting' concluded, we were then told the restaurant wouldn't open after all because they were running late and needed even more time. I had 3 team members of my own- in our management consulting business, and we were dumbfounded that customers were treated this way. It was cold and raining outside, which didn't help matters. About a month later, I decided to let the incident go, and against my better judgment took my team of 5 in for lunch. We were barely greeted and then shown to a booth/table at the back of the restaurant. Once we were there, we sat and waited for menus, but then within 5m were pointed at to 'please quickly move' to another table in the corner, as our table had actually been reserved by a party of 9, and they needed to set up the configuration accordingly. All of this was done with the grace and style of herding a bunch of hippos. When we finally were seated, my patience had reached its limit. It's not some great honor to dine here or be served by these people! Why ANYONE would choose to be treated this way, I don't know, but neither I nor my staff are ever going back. We've seen and experienced enough. There are so many other BETTER CHOICES in and around St. Pete's Beach. Don't let the snotty attitude ruin your dining experience like it did mine.

I really love this place!!! Best crepes I've had in years. Not the fastest service, but thoughtful and considerate. It's beach life, so we enjoyed the mimosas, beautiful morning and outstanding meal.

Great macchiato! Serves Kahwa beans. Wifi too. $2.60 for double shot. (Which I think is downright cheap!). Crappy "light jazz" musak. Otherwise would be comfy place to hang, though it's also a (liquor) bar.

Great breakfast place. Apple sausage, bacon, apple pie waffle was Awseome! Sausage was spicey and bacon was crispy. Enjoyed a mocha latte which was Very chocolatey. Others had a bloody mary and crab cake benedict. Everything was good.

Nice breakfast place right on Gulf Blvd. Big menu with a lot of unique choices. Great service, and good coffee which seems to be a little hard to find on St Pete beach. Breakfast was basic eggs, and potatoes but cooked perfectly. Didn't try enough to give it 5 stars but would definitely recommend this place.

This is a relatively small place but the food is delicious and they had a great selection of coffee choices. It looked very clean and it was comfortable seating. I will go back if ever in the area again.

We went twice in one weekend, first on a Saturday nite after dinner at Snappers down Golf Blvd. and the next am for bkft. first time in area for a long weekend from WI. Dessert was the brownie/red velvet cake with ice cream combo.Fantastic and enough for two. with coffee and Baileys it was just the trick. It was around 10 pm and the bar area wasn't busy so we were able to grab a loveseat. The music was soothing but while I have an interest in college football they couldn't get the Ohio state/Michigan state game on ( something to do with the remote). the ambiance would be better without the tv in the bar-period. The next am we didn't want to wait for 30 min at either the frogpond or Beverlys nearby for breakfast ( both rated well on Yelp) so went back to Steam. Sunday am they have a woman playing lounge music live and plays the flute and sax -very classy and relaxing. coffee was good again. we had the sweet potato waffle -just not flavorful. I had the Granny sandwich I believe it was called. Tasty enough-the pretzel roll was fresh but you needed salt/pepper- no biggie. Sat at the bar talking with a local - very friendly. Price wise it's an expensive breakfast for what you got we thought but it is a tourist area and we didn't have to wait with a huge crowd like a cattle call at the other places and certainly didn't feel rushed as can happen in tourist areas. I regret the weather both times didn't allow for us to sit outside - yes it is on Gulf Blvd so a busy street but you get that even in Madison WI. We plan to go back to the area again and we will visit Steam again.

Brought my dog in for breakfast, the waiter was nice and made our lattes personally. While our puppy enjoyed the philly scramble I had the crab cake Benedict and my wife had the Mediterranean scramble the food was outstanding! To top it off we indulged in the bananas foster waffle.. Best I've had by far. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I made a little stop here to kill some time with a friend. I will preface that it was an off-hour and I guess they're in the midst of changing the restaurant/coffee shop around so Steam's location would not be serving the fancy coffee drinks and instead you would have to go to a different building in the little plaza they're located in. Maybe we should have just gone to the new location. We sat at the bar and after being told of this situation, I ordered a plain ol' latte and my friend ordered a sangria. While it didn't take our server long to get them made (the sangria was premade in plastic dispensers), it did take a while for someone to acknowledge us there. We were chatting and it seemed like our server had a thing for listening to our conversation and chiming in randomly. I guess he then got distracted by regulars he knew, because it took a while to get our check so we could be on our way. It felt like it was a little overpriced for the product we got, but it was still a decent option to kill an hour.

Our experience this year fails in comparison to last year. The menu had completely changed and the items that drew us to this restaurant are no longer available. In addition, they're not very accommodating. They're "too busy" to make any adjustments to your order, even though there are only 5 tables full in the whole restaurant. Service this time was slow and unfriendly. She seemed annoyed from the minute she asked what drinks we want. A very disappointing turn from our last visit. We most likely won't be back. Bummer.

Hands down favorite for St Pete Beach. BBQ joint a close 2nd (review to come), but I enjoyed every aspect of each visit here. Wonderfully rich, just strong enough, not at all bitter coffee at quite reasonable prices. Impeccable service, with the waiter, I forget his name, but he's Russian and hard to miss, going out of his way to be friendly and helpful to everyone. The food makes me say mmm. My steak and eggs were perfect, the muffins moist and flavorful but not too sweet. The watermelon salad was bizarre but quite tasty. More watermelon than greens, just rich enough dressing, and the goat cheese wheel with almond coating that I'll be dreaming of for weeks to come. The lox bagel was two huge balls of cream cheese covered in delicate, smoked salmon. Every dish we tried was quite filling and extremely reasonably priced (anywhere from 5-12 bucks). Skip all those touristy, overpriced spots, and do yourself a favor by relaxing and eating well here.

Cute place, yummy options. We actually came for tapas, but we were early... Tapas menu is not available until 3PM. So we "made due" with a watermelon frisse salad, a herb and cheese quesadilla (made with brie), and a cheese steak special (sandwich). All were very good. The watermelon salad was very light and refreshing and easily shared. The sandwich and quesadiila were also very good. Thuy also had a mango smoothly, made with fresh mango. Yum. Flavors do vary, so ask for what's current. My only regret is that we were too early for the Chill tapas menu... But alas, there's always next time.

What a nice place. Great coffee, great service, great food and nice people. My wife is gluten free and they were very accommodating. We will be back whenever we are in the area and we will even make the trip down from tampa some times.

I hate to do this but the service was terrible. We waited and waited for our food and when it finally came out it was not good. I ordered the frittata which was basically scrambled eggs topped with fresh spinach, cold sliced cherry tomatoes, turkey lunch meat while sliced, and shredded cheese that wasn't melted. After picking all of that out, I are the potatoes, eggs and spinach which would have been enough. Disappointed that we were never offered anything but plain coffee. We will probably not come back again. Sad because this place has potential but it was an awful disappointment.

Also known as Chill....Overall, disappointing. Service was polite but cold. My son ordered a California wrap- turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, guac- he hates guac, very clear he did not want guac, he got it anyways...being a trooper, he didn't complain to us until half way through his wrap, when he started scraping it off...Turkey was low-grade processed lunch meat- my son said it was Lunchable quality, and though he's outgrown them and enjoys things like spicy Thai and Indian food, he would have preferred a Lunchable to his wrap....My wife had crab mac and cheese- mac and cheese were really good - rich, creamy, hint of brie with cheddar..crab was from a can, cold, just lumped on top...eggh.....I had an omellete with cheese, peppers, onions....not bad- but eggs were tough, cheese did not melt- platter came with fruit (melon and pineapple mix that was just edible (after my vacation diet of beer and greasy meats I ate them for the vitamins), but you could tell it was on the edge of spoilage), roasted potatoes (tasty), and a nice piece of fruit-spiked bread pudding- highlight of meal. Chai was good. I hope their tapas is better- seems to be what folks rave over- we won't be back to find out.

For the coffee I would give this place a 5 star but the food was only OK which balanced this place out to a 3. The coffee was great, I had a small English Toffee Latte and it was the best coffee I have had in a long while. great flavor and the flavor shot they added didn't overpower the coffee. The food was a little less in quality, it was really pricey for not a lot of food. they seem to go for aesthetic appeal more than for taste. I ordered the goat cheese tomato basil crepes and they were kinda lackluster in flavor. I guess they knew this since it seemed that they tried to cover that with a very overpowered hollindaise sauce to cover the entire thing with tasted really tangy and left and oily flavor in my moth that didn't leave till I went home and ate some chocolate. i might go back here for some coffee and a muffin but I probably won't order a full meal again.

Would leave zero stars if possible. Just left after being rudely "waited" on by Gilbert. After sitting for 45 min with cold coffee in our to go cups and having to ask the manager for water, we kindly asked how much longer the wait would be for our breakfast. The manager did not apologize or even say allow me to check but turned away to fetch our server. Gilbert showed up to say if "you wanted to leave then leave". So we left. Avoid this poorly managed establishment for any other option along gulf blvd!

Another pricey restaurant. Been eating out alot bc family from out of town. I gave it a four because my brother's steak was salty, but he said they cooked it well. I loved their chai latte Sangria. First time or place i ever heard of making it. Their Tapas was also delicious. My dish was good. Spaghetti squash with chicken, artichoke, and cheese. So its healthier than real pasta. Some food were salty such as the conch. The bread cracker tapa and mix dish was delicious. My brother and cousin in law said the Margarita is sweet.

Have only been here for breakfast and Sunday brunch. Love the food! Everything tastes fresh and i enjoyed the 24hr cold press iced coffee toddy. I had a delicious egg white skillet with artichokes tomatoes mushroom and feta over wilted spinach, yum! Service was friendly and enthusiastic. Solo guitar player on Sunday. This was 2 weeks ago. Went to this place for dinner on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The waiter was super friendly and made some amazing recommendations to us regarding food and drinks. The only reason they are getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because my husband ordered steak and it had to be sent back twice before it actually came out "medium" as ordered. Not sure why that happened but have been back since and have had no issues. Will be back again!

This was a GREAT end to a work-cay. The food was absolutely awesome, the service was excellent and the atmosphere is on point dot com. I had the seriously awesome sausage & bacon & Apple Pie waffle. Yes all baked together. I topped it off with the Dirty Chai Latte with a shot if espresso. Amazingly good. Our server Deacon was so attentive. Absolutely a 5 star service.

True to it's name, this place is super CHILL and the food is delicious! If you go on weekends, they have a special breakfast menu and occasionally they will bring in a musician to perform live music. Try their special bacon and sausage waffle topped with apples and maple syrup... it just might be the best waffle you'll ever have!

While the food was very good the service was so poor I cannot recommend this place. Waiter was either untrained, incompetent or both. He forgot half the drink order and only brought it after being prompted twice. He forgot to enter our order and after waiting 40 minutes he said the order was still in the queue. Manager came over 20 minutes later and told us of the mistake and that half the order was ready. 10 minutes later it finally came out. Waiter never checked on us after dropping off food. Manager did nothing about the issue. And the coffee mug was dirty.

My wife and I were in Treasure Island for our honeymoon, and as we love to try any local coffee shop, we checked out Steam after seeing the very positive reviews on Yelp. We not disappointed! My wife and I tried their cold press coffee, advertised as the lowest acidic coffee you can get, and it was exactly that; so smooth and so delicious. The prices are in line with anything you would expect and they can make it to go.
